I have a friend who the most amazing cook. She often asks me to her house for dinner parties and I always come away with lots of ideas for delicious dishes that I want to try out. This time it was something quite simple and delicious – Jordan almonds. I normally only have nuts when they are roasted and salted but these were a delight. She served them with coffee and despite being very full, we all managed to have several because they were so good. She explained that one of the secrets was in the type of nut and she always made she used quality Marcona almonds because they had a superior flavour. She is always so good at selecting the finest ingredients and always knows what to do with her food to make it taste delicious. I am not a good cook and so feel quite jealous of her skills. I am going to try to get the recipe for the almonds from her though because I really want to have a go at them myself as they were so nice. Hopefully I will be able to make at least a reasonable attempt at replicating her delicious dish.
